The original oak rudder head on our 1902 built Dutch barge was suffering from old age and rot. After searches on the internet to find someone with the necessary skills to produce a hand carved replacement we eventually entrusted the work to Sarah Goss.
Sarah offered an exact copy of the original but we were keen to have more finer detail in the carving and gave Sarah a free hand to do this and to include painting the finished article.
We are absolutely delighted with the new rudder head which has become the main focal point on our barge.”
